How To Join
To become a member of Virginia Educators Credit Union (VECU), you must establish a Prime Share (Savings) account. Once you are a member, you have the option to open other accounts such as a checking account and apply for VECU loans and services. Visit the VECU Accounts page to learn more.
The membership field of VECU includes: All public/private school students (including students enrolled in a college or university) and persons engaged in educational services in the Virginia cities of Newport News and Williamsburg and in the Virginia counties of Isle of Wight, York, James City, Gloucester, and Mathews; Hampton University employees, faculty, and students; Thomas Nelson Community College students; and all alumni of such colleges and universities; Spouses of deceased members; Persons retired as annuitants from the above employment; Family members who are relatives by blood, by marriage or by law; Educational organizations (including PTA members); School auxiliary and/or activity services; Any retired educator currently residing in the localities specified in the existing field of membership.
Any person who has established membership in the credit union retains the full borrowing and savings rights of the membership for life.
